Our core values "Integrity and Ethics" and "Impartiality and Independence" were the focal point of the work carried out by our profession in 2003, under the leadership of the International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA), which led to the drafting of our first Code of Ethics, published in October 2003.
In 2009, the Ethics Committee decided not only to publish a new Compliance Programme but to accompany the deployment of the new Code of Ethics with an extensive implementation programme to ensure that every employee has read and understood the Code of Ethics; that every manager is also familiar with the Code of Ethics Internal Policies and Procedures; and that Bureau Veritas has in place and is able to demonstrate that it has in place, an effective Compliance Programme.
Training courses for all Bureau Veritas employees
In order for the Bureau Veritas employees to better understand our code of ethics and what is at stake, the 2009 version is accompanied by a training session that all employees are to perform. This code of ethics training can be done through an e-learning online module available on the Bureau Veritas intranet or through an in-class collective session.
Today, the Bureau Veritas Code of ethics is available in 20 languages and the e-learning module is available in 10 languages, covering 90% of employees.
